  1. What is a VGC artist residency? VGC artist residency is a program and opportunity that invites artists to work in an artist studio for 4 and 6 week periods of time. VGC provides artists with dedicated space, resources, and a supportive community to focus on their creative practice.
  2. How long does the VGC artist residencies typically last? The duration of art residencies are a few weeks. VGC residencies are in between 4 and 6 weeks.
  3. Who can apply for the VGC artist residency? VGC requires applicants to submit a portfolio and project proposal for consideration online. Anyone in the DFW Metroplex may apply for the VGC artist residency. Open to artists in the 2D visual arts fields. (Excludes Photography.) 
  4. Is the VGC art residency paid? VGC offers financial support, including a stipend, grant, or funding for materials, and accommodation to a studio space. 
  5. Can I apply for the VGC artist residency if I am an emerging artist? Yes! VGC provides valuable opportunities for artists to gain experience, expand their networks, and develop their practice.
