Through our artist residencies, we provide dedicated time, space, and resources for artists to immerse themselves in their work, encouraging innovation and the cultivation of new ideas.
Taeesha Muhammad is a Brooklyn-based international artist, curator and cultural architect. She is a contemporary artist known for her evocative mixed-media compositions that explore the intersection of race, memory, gender, and identity. Ms. Muhammad grew up surrounded by the strength and character of New York, which continues to inspire her work. Her early fascination with the arts has given her a unique perspective characterized by a dynamic blend of painting, collage, and media. Her use of vibrant colors, layered textures, forgotten text, and organic forms create a sense of depth and movement.
As a participant in several art exhibits, residencies, and global art panels, her curatorial projects for institutions all over New York provide her with a unique insight that will no doubt provide our Dallas residents with an even broader scope of artistry. Taeesha Muhammad is the Co-Director of GAMA New York where she leads with a mission to create cultural exchanges through visual narratives to connect our world to its original space of joy.
